NSI-1000: replacement of AIS on statement

NSR NSI-1000 - catalog photo

NSR NSI-1000: transponder unit and display in catalog photo. Antennas, fasteners and cables are listed separately in the specification.

Request the NSR NSI-1000 kit

When replacing AIS, it is important to buy an agreed kit that can be handed over to the installer with a clear record. The name NSI-1000 is not enough: some equipment will remain on the ship, some will need to be replaced, and some must first be examined. Let us know how to divide these positions before ordering.

Start with your existing post.

Take a picture of the old AIS, its display, block plates and available connectors. List the devices to which it transmits data and the sources from which it receives information. If there is no diagram, it is more useful to mention it directly in the query than to accept an unknown cable for a ready-made connection line.

The NSI-1000 is listed on the manufacturer’s card as Class AIS with a separate transponder, a 7-inch color screen and interfaces to navigation equipment. It's a selection guide. The coincidence of the purpose of the old and new device in itself does not confirm the interchangeability of connectors, settings and the entire installation.

Three groups in one specification

The first group is the supplied NSI-1000 units and accessories of the selected set. The second is the equipment that is planned to be saved after the check: antennas, mounts, part of the track or an external data source. The third is work and materials, the need for which is determined by the survey. For each position, the responsible person should be clear: equipment supplier, installation organization or shipowner.

In our catalog, the kit is described with a display, a satellite antenna and a cable of 20 m, a VHF antenna and accessories. Before payment, this composition is fixed in the quotation: exact models of antennas, cable lengths, fasteners and a list of documents. A catalog photo of two blocks does not replace such a statement and does not show the entire contents of the delivery.

What to check for saved parts

An old antenna doesn't become usable just because it fits. Labeling, cable condition, line parameters and new equipment requirements are required. The same goes for power supply: specify the actual source and protection scheme, and then check them against the management of the supplied configuration. Unconfirmed parts are noted as requiring a solution, with no promise to keep them at all costs.

Separately make a list of external connections. For each line, the name of the second device, purpose, interface and known settings are recorded. The manufacturer's documentation for the NSI-1000 specifies the RS-422; this record alone does not provide a ready-to-spin and does not allow any two ports to be connected. The scheme is coordinated according to the manuals of specific devices.

How to accept equipment after delivery

Upon receipt, check the statement, markings and completeness. After installation, check the work according to the agreed program: power supply, display of own data, communication with the provided external devices and the absence of unexplained messages. Entering information about the ship and setting is performed with the verification of the original data. Buying AIS alone does not confirm the readiness of the entire marine system.

In the request, specify the port or city of receipt - for example, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan or Novosibirsk - the desired date and the possibility of examining the old post. The cost of delivery, installation and additional materials are agreed separately. The presence of a specific set and the composition of documents are confirmed before ordering.

Questions before ordering

Can you just buy the NSI-1000 and keep the rest?

This option is considered after checking existing antennas, cables, power supply and external connections. The composition of the replacement is fixed in the quotation; compatibility is not expected in advance.

Is the installation included in the price of the kit?

Equipment and work must be specified in separate quotation lines. The cost of the card should not be automatically considered the price of a fully installed post.

What photos to attach to the application?

General view of the post, marking old AIS and display, available connectors and antennas. If part of the nodes is not available for inspection, indicate this by letter.

Our product and related positions

The main device is listed first. Related equipment is not included in the price; system composition and compatibility are agreed on a separate statement.

Delivery to Russia and Kazakhstan. Indicate the city - agree on the cost and delivery time of the selected set. Current availability, condition, documents and exact completeness are confirmed before ordering.
