To select an LTV MCL-2216, it is useful to separate three things: the parameters of the recorded file, the video signal at the output of the recorder or computer, and the resolution of the panel itself.
Archive and screen solve different tasks
In our LTV MCL-2216 card, the Full HD, 1920×1080 screen is indicated. Such a screen does not show the entire frame of 3840×2160 pixels per pixel simultaneously. When displaying a whole frame, the image is scaled, and some of the small details on the screen are more difficult to distinguish. This is a display restriction, not proof that the original recording has lost resolution.
The connection of a lower resolution panel does not rewrite the video file that has already been saved. If the recorder continues to record the original stream, and displays a separately prepared image on the monitor, the archive can store the same parameters. But you can't automatically promise the same behavior for all registrars and programs.
How to accidentally change the record
In some systems, video profile settings are used immediately for viewing and recording. If you reduce the resolution of such a profile for the sake of easier viewing, the future recording may change. Therefore, distinguish between switching the mode of the video output, the choice of flow in the client and changing the camera parameters. The names are similar, the consequences are different. The official AXIS Camera Station Edge documentation, for example, directly links quality settings to recording and live viewing.
Before changing the settings, find out by the manual of your registrar or program what it refers to. When receiving it, it is useful to save a short fragment of the archive and check the parameters of the exported file. This is a test of a particular system, not a function performed by the monitor itself.
What is required from the source
Having a 4K record does not mean that a 4K signal must be sent to the monitor. The registrar or computer must issue a mode that accepts the exact configuration of the monitor: check the resolution, frequency and interface. Reception of 4K input signal for LTV MCL-2216 is not stated here. Unsupported mode is able to leave the screen without an image, even with proper recording.
A cable with a suitable connector does not yet confirm the compatibility of the entire chain. Send the source model and information about the available outputs. Adapters and cables are agreed on the composition; their mention in the article does not mean the inclusion in the supply of the monitor.
When you need a different screen
For general observation and management of the archive Full HD may be sufficient if the work interface is read from the operator’s seat. If the task requires simultaneous viewing of the full 4K frame without reducing, a screen of the appropriate resolution and a suitable output path are needed. Enlarging the fragment in the program can help to consider the detail, but does not add pixels of the panel and depends on the capabilities of the program.
